Description

Underglazes from Speedball are highly concentrated underglazes that can be used directly as printing ink for various printing techniques due to its thick consistency. It can be brushed on as is and needs no more than one or two coats or mixed with water/darvan to get a consistency like other underglazes. It can be applied to clay, greenware or bisque with a brush, sponge or pallet knife. Colors can be mixed with each other or combined with other glazes.

They can be fired at 1044°C and 1207°C - 1260°C with minimal color and texture variations at temperatures above 1044°C. The examples are on white clay and fired at 1044°C one half unglazed and the other with SBG-4000. Food safe only in combination with clear glaze. Test firing is recommended.

The recommended clear glaze for earthenware is SBG-4000 or NTBR and for stoneware SBG-2000, HF-9, SW-004 or MS-100. Always test fire when using other clear glazes.
