Jungle Gems™ Crystal Glazes from Mayco are transformed in the kiln as the tiny crystals of glass frit burst into color and intricate patterns during the firing process. Artists use these beautiful glazes to create dramatic, colorful effects on their creations.

These crystal glazes are shaken well and applied in three to four layers with a brush. The crystals settle to the bottom of the jar and are stirred with a spoon or similar to get an even distribution on the ware during application. Fires up to 1000°C. They are not suitable for food service.

Cone 06 oxidation: Bloomin’ Blue is a translucent blue base glaze with large white crystals that melt/bloom and small blue specks.

Cone 6 oxidation: Base glaze remains – crystals fade and melt. Enhanced mobility. Surface issues may occur.
